Dr. Valentina Iemmi

Valentina is a global mental health policy researcher with a focus on governance and financing. She is a Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) where she pursues her research and teaches courses on global health policy and politics. She is also a member of the Lancet Countdown Global Mental Health 2030 (Technical Working Group), UNESCO Inclusive Policy Lab, and Global Mental Health Action Network. Her work has informed the activities of numerous national and international organisations for which she has advised and/or consulted, including World Health Organization, UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, and Global Innovation Fund. Previously, she held research positions at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, King’s College London, University of Paris V, and University of Paris VIII (France).

Valentina holds a PhD in Social Policy from the LSE. She also has a MSc in Health Policy, Planning and Financing from the LSE & London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a training in Clinical Psychology from the University of Paris. Outside work she is an illustrator and loves politics, poetry, and the arts.
