MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA
Must be a funder committing private sector capital to implementing mental health services, advocacy or prevention.
Members include individual or family foundations; corporate foundations or programs; grant-giving entities and private equity funds or investors who are:
Deploying their own capital; and
Contributing positively to building the global mental health ecosystem.
Collective Members can come from all over the world and we are actively looking for more members in Africa and Latin America, so that we can all benefit from having a stronger, global network.
All new Collective members must have been recommended by and vouched for by an existing Collective member.
Must be the funder or CEO/Head of Foundation/Mental Health program.
To preserve the really valuable peer-to-peer nature of this community, membership of the Collective is for those who hold ultimate responsibility for funding decisions. There are events where we will specify that attendance is for members only. This is so that members can hold space for each other and share vulnerably in a community of like-minded peers.
However, there are many other opportunities to include representatives or a +1. We will always say on the invites when it is member only. Otherwise, assume that representatives and +1s are welcome :)
Must value mental health.
In practice, this means:
Making a positive contribution to mental health by funding mental health services, education or advocacy.
Making an effort to be aware of any negative impacts that result from your company or organization’s actions that could harm mental health, and putting in place measures to tackle any negative impacts when known.
Being conscious of how we, as leaders, inspire others and role model being considerate of our own and each other’s mental health.
Must respect our community values and our spirit of non-solicitation.
If a member is consistently soliciting other members, not being considerate of other members’ time or privacy, or not respecting our values of trust and respect, we retain the right to remove them form the community (but hope to never have to do so!!)
Most importantly, we ask that members engage with an open heart and desire to support and help each other to get stuff done.
